Last week I had the chance to present at two events held in Auckland. TechEd 2014 New Zealand and the Auckland Code Camp. The 3 sessions that I presented focused on Azure and SharePoint 2013 in general. During both the events, I had the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of audiences and was able to get some good discussions around Azure and how a SharePoint 2013 workload fits within the cloud architecture. SharePoint – Http to Https URL Redirect

The following steps need to be completed on all the Web Front Ends that serve the SharePoint site. URL Redirection can be achieved through load balancers as well. This post shows how to achieve it at an IIS level if Load balancers or other edge based devices do not exist. The need for this came for a project that was recently built on Azure. (more…)

Issue with My Tasks Update within SharePoint 2013

Mysites on SharePoint 2013 brings the capability to aggregate all the tasks associated with the user on his page. But recently we faced the following issue:

  1. Ability to create tasks from Mysites without any issue.
  2. Any tasks assigned to the user from any other location doesn’t show up as shown below and also displays the error. (more…)
